AWS Launches CloudWatch Omni For Watching AI Agents
AWS introduced Amazon CloudWatch Omni on September 22, 2026, and says it is generally available now. AWS describes it as a unified observability experience for application and AI workloads, and as a purpose built observability, evaluation and experimentation solution for AI agents.
Transcript
AWS launched a tool for watching what AI agents actually do. It is generally available today.
CloudWatch Omni is built for observing and evaluating AI agents. AWS says it captures every trace your agent produces.
Agent behavior is not deterministic. AWS says a prompt change can degrade response quality even when standard metrics show no errors.
Developers get an extension inside the code editor. Operators get a web experience outside the AWS console.
It ships with seventeen built in evaluators. AWS says the editor extension is free and you do not need an AWS account to start.
