Microsoft and Databricks just expanded their decade-long strategic partnership, extending it into the 2030s. Databricks is deepening its use of Azure Databricks to run its own core business operations, and expanding Azure Cobalt with the new Cobalt 200 chip for up to 50% better performance and default memory encryption. Microsoft is integrating Databricks Genie and Unity AI Gateway across Entra, OneLake, Power BI, Purview, Foundry, Microsoft 365, Teams, and Copilot. Customers already running critical workloads on Azure Databricks include Unilever, Electrolux, the Cincinnati Reds, Banco Bradesco, and SMBC.

Microsoft and Databricks just extended their decade-long partnership into the 2030s.
The two companies announced the expansion today, deepening a nearly ten year alliance built around data and enterprise AI.
Databricks will run its own core business operations on Azure Databricks, using the same platform it sells to customers.
It will also expand Azure Cobalt, moving to Cobalt 200 for up to 50 percent better performance and default memory encryption.
Microsoft is integrating Databricks Genie and Unity AI Gateway across Entra, OneLake, Power BI, Purview, Foundry, Microsoft 365, Teams and Copilot.
Customers like Unilever, Electrolux, the Cincinnati Reds, Banco Bradesco and SMBC already run critical workloads on Azure Databricks.
