Google Picks 28 AI Startups To Work On The Power Grid

Google announced today it selected twenty eight artificial intelligence startups working on the electricity grid.

Google says twelve startups joined the North American program and sixteen joined the European program. Google calls it the class of twenty twenty six.

Google says the goal is to modernize the grid and reduce power bills. Nomadic in Germany builds drones that recharge by perching on power lines.

Google says several startups focus on data centers. Nyquis works to cut the time to power for new loads. Cosmic Robotics builds equipment for solar farms.

Google says these startups get technical mentorship and digital tools. Google did not announce funding. Google also runs data centers that need grid power.
