Google Study: Nearly Half Of Scientists Use AI Every Day
Google published new insights from its AI & Economy ATLAS project, and the headline finding is about scientists: nearly half of the scientists surveyed use some form of AI every day, a higher rate than many other occupations.
Transcript
Google says nearly half of surveyed scientists use AI every day.
That is from new research by Google, DeepMind, and MIT FutureTech, surveying over six hundred scientists.
They report saving just under seven hours a week. Google says that means more time for research.
But the study found a backlog of untested hypotheses. Bottlenecks remain in physical experimentation and clinical validation.
American computer and mathematical jobs are thirty percent of work AI usage, double the share elsewhere.
Google is also launching a new interactive, open access way to explore ATLAS data. The project itself is not new.
