Google Backs Three Higher Ed AI Projects, No Amount Given
At the EDUCAUSE Annual Conference this week, one of the biggest higher education technology shows in the United States, Google.org announced its support of three higher education initiatives aimed at AI readiness, institutional planning and student success. Google frames the gap it is trying to close with an outside number: recent coverage of an Instructure poll reports that 41 percent of higher-ed educators say they have not received any formal training on using AI tools in learning environments.
Transcript
Google is backing three higher education AI projects. The announcement came at the EDUCAUSE conference.
The first project puts Google training material and AI lessons into a professional certification. Educators at thirty universities will test it.
The second project will analyze ten existing career learning models at member institutions. Case studies will follow.
The third project helps community colleges rethink strategic planning. A national competition for a statewide college system opens in early twenty twenty seven.
Google discloses no funding amount for any of the projects. The forty one percent training gap it cites comes from a separate poll.
