Meta has announced the recipients of its AI Glasses Impact Grants, putting nearly 2 million dollars behind 30 organizations across 18 states that are using Meta AI glasses to solve real problems at work and at home. Meta says it received nearly 500 applications. Recipients include Strategic Workforce Development in Missouri, which coaches construction career seekers hands free, Mycelia Foundation in New Mexico, which helps rural broadband installers stay safe working at height, Proformance-AI in California, which is building an AI copilot for roadside mechanics, Agerpoint in North Carolina, which gives farmers real time crop health information, OurLife Labs in California, which is building an assistant for people with early stage dementia, and United Spinal Association in New York, which equips wheelchair user advocates to document accessibility barriers. Later this year, five Catalyst grant recipients will integrate their apps on Ray-Ban Meta glasses using Meta's Device Access Toolkit, and all recipients gather in New York City for a three day summit.
