Microsoft Published Its Method For Fixing What AI Agents Get Wrong
Microsoft published a post on October 9, 2026 introducing the Agent Experience (AX) Practitioner Playbook, a free download setting out how Microsoft evaluates what AI coding agents do with a technology and fixes it at the source. Everything below comes from Microsoft's own announcement.

Coding agents can write code that compiles but is wrong. Microsoft published its method for fixing that.
Microsoft says coding agents pick the wrong library version because their training data showed that pattern.
Waiting for better models is not a strategy, Microsoft says. Change the documentation agents rely on.
Microsoft published the Agent Experience Practitioner Playbook, a method for measuring agent behavior and fixing it.

Every claim in this video comes from the top ranking coverage of this topic. The claims and where each one came from:
- Microsoft published the AX Practitioner Playbook, stating: 'The AX Practitioner Playbook is our method for evaluating what AI coding agents do with your technology, diagnosing why they get it wrong, and fixing it at the source. It puts everything we've learned from hundreds of agent sessions in one place.' The post says agents produce code where 'you'll find the wrong SDK version, a deprecated authentication pattern, or a setup nobody on the product team would recommend' and that 'The agent didn't make a random mistake. It did exactly what its training data told it to do.' It adds that 'Waiting for models to get better isn't a strategy' and that 'What you can change are the sources agents rely on: docs, MCP tools, skills, plugins, instructions, CLIs, and APIs.' On results: 'Those evaluations led to dozens of shipped fixes to docs and agent extensions, including 46 improvements to the Azure Cosmos DB Agent Kit.' On the companion release: 'we're releasing the AX Practitioner skill' and 'The skill answers only from the playbook... Across 330 questions, its answers scored 95% on average against what the playbook says.' Verified absences: no third party verification of any figure, no pricing, no adoption or download numbers, no named outside organization using the method, and the page shows 0 reactions and 0 comments.(First party Microsoft for Developers blog post at developer.microsoft.com, headline 'Introducing the Agent Experience (AX) Practitioner Playbook', on page date October 9th, 2026, author Waldek Mastykarz, Principal Developer Advocate at Microsoft, category AI, topics 'Agent Experience' and 'AX'. The page shows Reactions: 0 and Comments: 0, with the text 'Be the first to start the discussion.' It is Microsoft publishing Microsoft's own evaluation method, measured by Microsoft on Microsoft's own products, so every figure in it is self reported. The YouTube transcript pull captured 0 of 5 transcripts because the local yt-dlp build is too old to fetch subtitles, and timeline-probes.json held only unrelated dated video titles, so this single page is the sole source for every claim in this script.)
