Researchers reenacted a nationwide electricity surge to see if an AI cluster would reduce its power use.

Emerald AI ran its Conductor Platform on ninety six NVIDIA GPUs at a Nebius AI factory in London last December. EPRI and National Grid simulated grid stress.

Emerald AI recorded one hundred percent alignment with over two hundred power targets. The paper reports power dropped about thirty percent within forty seconds. Priority workloads kept running.

Flexible sites could connect faster and limit new construction. This was a simulated demonstration reported by NVIDIA and its collaborators. Deployment at a Virginia AI factory is planned.
