OpenAI: Playco Cut Manual Game Fixes By Half
OpenAI published a customer story on its own site titled "Playco cut manual fixes 50% prototyping games with GPT-6 Astra", filed under its Startup section and dated September 3, 2026. Everything below comes from that post.
Transcript
OpenAI published a customer story today about Playco prototyping games with GPT six Astra.
OpenAI says Playco is using GPT six Astra to build Playbot, an AI powered IDE that connects to engines such as Unity and Godot.
Playco says it built a grey box prototype from simple primitives, then developed three themed game prototypes, and Astra produced all three at once.
Playco reports fifty percent fewer manual fixes and says most prototypes worked on the first attempt, though one cyberpunk version needed a performance fix.
Playco's lead product engineer says Astra reasons better about space and positioning. These figures are self-reported by Playco to OpenAI, not independent testing.
