Salesforce Announces the Trusted Enterprise AI Harness

Salesforce has introduced what it calls the Trusted Enterprise AI Harness, an architecture it describes as a trusted foundation around AI that brings together what agents need to understand the business, reason and plan, take action, and operate within enterprise controls, without every agent or AI experience having to build those capabilities separately.

Transcript

Salesforce just announced the Trusted Enterprise AI Harness.

It is a trusted foundation around AI. Agents get what they need to act within enterprise controls.

The harness bundles six trusted capabilities. They cover context and governance plus security and models. Customers take what they need.

A new AI Control Plane gives businesses one place to oversee agents. It is headless and extends into Claude and Slack.

One caveat. Salesforce describes its own architecture. The release names no benchmarks. It gives no pricing or packaging. New capabilities only start in early fiscal year twenty twenty eight.

  • Every claim in this script comes from Salesforce's September 10, 2026 newsroom announcement titled "Salesforce Introduces the Trusted Enterprise AI Harness", which the release subtitles as a new architecture that gives AI a shared understanding of the customer and the business and enables it to act with trust, delivered as six trusted capabilities and a new AI Control Plane built for an open and composable AI ecosystem; the release frames the Agentic Enterprise as changing how work gets done, with agents taking on more complex work such as understanding what is happening, deciding what to do next, taking action across systems, and working alongside people and other agents, and it defines an Enterprise AI Harness as a trusted foundation around AI that brings together what agents need to understand the business, reason and plan, take action, and operate within enterprise controls, without companies having to build and manage those capabilities separately for every agent or AI experience, which is the basis for the hook and scene one; the six capabilities named in scene two are Trusted Context, Trusted Agency, Trusted Action, Trusted Governance, Trusted Security, and Trusted Models, spanning context, agency, action, governance, security, and models through a common composable architecture, and the release states that customers can use the six together as one system or take only what they need, with Salesforce technology, their existing technology, or both, including third party models, agents, and systems, which is the basis for the second sentence of scene two; the release illustrates the six with the example question "Can we fulfill this order today?" and explains that CRM knows the customer, ERP knows inventory and fulfillment, contracts contain commitments and entitlements, analytics provides business definitions, policies determine what can be promised, and previous interactions provide memory, and it says Salesforce is drawing on core technologies from across its existing portfolio including Informatica, MuleSoft and Agent Fabric, Tableau, Agentforce, Salesforce Guardian and the Salesforce Platform, though the script does not name those products; scene three comes from the section titled "A New AI Control Plane for the Enterprise", which states that Salesforce is introducing a new AI Control Plane to give businesses a common place to see, manage, and control agents and AI across the enterprise, enabling companies to discover and register agents and AI capabilities, establish identity and policy, manage lifecycle, evaluate performance, observe behavior and outcomes, and control cost, across Salesforce and third party AI, and from the section titled "Built for Choice and Openness", which states that the Enterprise AI Harness is being built headlessly from the ground up with capabilities accessible through technologies including MCP, APIs, Skills and Plug ins, allowing Salesforce capabilities to extend beyond traditional Salesforce applications and into AI experiences where people already work, including Claude, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Agentforce, and other AI experiences, advancing the broader AIforce strategy; the release quotes Rohan Kumar, President, Chief Platform and Engineering Officer, on proprietary context being the differentiator rather than model choice, and quotes Shawn Malhotra, CTO of Rocket Mortgage, saying composability matters and that his company does not want to bet its future on one closed stack, neither of which is quoted verbatim in narration; the availability section states that many of the technologies forming the foundation of the Trusted Enterprise AI Harness are available today, with new capabilities and the unified experience planned to begin rolling out in early fiscal FY28, that existing customers will be able to upgrade eligible Salesforce investments to unlock new capabilities as they become available, and that additional details on availability, packaging, pricing, and upgrade paths will be announced closer to general availability, with pricing and packaging subject to change and availability varying by region. HONESTY CAVEAT: this is Salesforce's own announcement about Salesforce's own architecture, published on its own newsroom, so every characterization of what the harness does is vendor language and not independent assessment; the release contains no benchmarks, no performance numbers, no accuracy or reliability measurements, no pricing and no packaging details of any kind, and it explicitly defers availability, packaging, pricing, and upgrade paths to a later announcement closer to general availability; a substantial part of the announcement is forward looking rather than shipping, because while the release says many foundational technologies are available today, the new capabilities and the unified experience are only planned to begin rolling out in early fiscal FY28, spoken in narration as early fiscal year twenty twenty eight to avoid a brand glued to digits in the voice engine; the only customer voice in the release is a supplied endorsement from Shawn Malhotra, CTO of Rocket Mortgage, which is a quote provided inside a vendor press release rather than an independent customer review or a deployment result, and no customer outcomes, adoption figures or case results are given anywhere in the release; product names that glue a brand to digits, such as Data 360, were deliberately omitted from narration for text to speech reasons and their omission is not a judgment about their relevance; finally, YouTube research returned zero usable transcripts for this run because the local yt-dlp build is out of date, and timeline probes returned only unrelated videos about coding agent harnesses, so this first party press release is the only source behind the script and no third party reporting, analyst commentary, competitor comparison or independent verification was available or used.(Salesforce's own first party newsroom announcement, "Salesforce Introduces the Trusted Enterprise AI Harness", published on salesforce.com on September 10, 2026)
