Google published a post on August 19, 2026 highlighting Gemini inside Waymo's purpose built Ojai vehicles. Waymo has brought Google's Gemini into its purpose built Ojai vehicles as an in car assistant.
Riders press the Gemini icon on screen, then use voice to set the air conditioning to sixty five, find a nearby coffee shop, or ask about a local monument.
Google says Gemini operates entirely independently of the Waymo Driver. It remains completely inactive until a rider chooses to engage it, giving hands free control from the seat.
Waymo and Google are both Alphabet companies describing their own product. Waymo announced this in late July. The post names no cities, no rider numbers, and no independent testing.
